Congratulations! You have made the first step towards healthier living. Perhaps you are curious about acupuncture or are looking to alleviate the discomfort you are experiencing now. This website will answer some of your questions and give you a basic understanding of how Chinese medicine works.
It includes herbal therapy, acupuncture, Tui Na/massage, and dietary therapy. It has been helping people in China and other East Asian countries for over 3000 years and has likely treated more people throughout history than any other formalized system of medicine.
In this gentle form of medicine, each diagnosis is based on the patient’s overall health condition and life style. Each treatment is designed uniquely to address imbalances in the individual. Symptoms are viewed in relationship to the whole of a person in order to explore the underlying cause of an illness or disease.
Because of its effectiveness, noninvasive nature and relatively low cost, acupuncture had gained popularity in the United States after it was first introduced in the 70’s. The World Health Organization (WHO) has endorsed acupuncture for over 40 conditions involving muscular skeletal system, digestive system, respiratory system, gynecological system, psychosomatic system and circulatory system. Acupuncture is also commonly recommended for hypertension, stress reduction and sleep disorders.
